Rory achieved AAAAAA grades in his Highers and AC grades in his Advanced Highers (Physics and Physics).
Hobbies and Interests
In my spare time I love to stay fit by going to the gym and running regularly. I’ve recently taken this to the next level by completing a marathon and ultra-marathon. I also love to take part in adventurous sports including skiing, sailing and mountaineering – I’ve recently trekked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal! I’ve played rugby throughout my life and like to keep this passion going whenever I find the time by playing for the uni. I have a keen interest in astronomy and space – and I suppose anything that isn’t on the ground, including flying planes. I take flying lessons with the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde Air Squadron and hope to complete my first solo flight next year.
Ambitions
I plan to continue this passion for flying after University, with hopes to become a pilot either in the Royal Air Force or commercially. I’d also love to combine my passion for fitness and adventure by taking part in some more extreme physical challenges, such as summiting high altitude mountains.
