Very helpful for my daughter who is doing nat 5s. Her physics tutor is excellent at explaining and she is now sitting at a working grade of 1. Before Hattie started tutoring her she was quite anxious and not anywhere near a top grade. Online tutoring has been ideal. No need to waste any time in travelling and there is a wealth of extra resources that comes with the tutoring. I recommend.

Aiden has a great teaching style
Aiden has a great teaching style. He explains maths in a way that is easy to understand. I like the way you get the students doing worked examples as it brings the online learning to live. My son really struggles with maths, and can even follow these revision classes (when he could really do with full lessons!)

I enquired about a higher maths and higher chemistry tutor which was set up quickly to make sure minimal teaching time was lost. They both have a clear structure to they’re lesson which makes them very time and cost effective. I found Caledonia Tutors via a gumtree search and I was glad I did. We came to the tutor game late as my daughters teacher said she didn’t need one, her prelim results told a different story which lead us down the tutor path. We are now a few weeks into her on line maths lessons with Freddie and already I can see that she is more confident. Freddie is able to easily answer questions she didn’t want to ask her teacher or couldn’t get an explanation to in a way she understood. I just wish we had started sooner.

My daughter required help with her higher maths and Caledonian Tutors were recommended to me. Anna was allocated to my daughter. She is very polite, courteous, helpful, friendly, flexible re timings and most importantly has managed to boost my daughter's confidence. Anna has helped immensely. My son has been doing physics National 5 tutorials in a group lesson for a year. His confidence in the subject was low at the beginning and he found physics challenging. He now understands and enjoys the subject and is consistently scoring well in assessments.
Joint lessons have been a real cost saving option for us and will allow us to cover more subjects moving into Highers and post Covid catch up. It also gives the learning experience a competitive edge and allows a bit of banter between participants making it more enjoyable.

With any learning experience like sport the relationship and connection between coach and pupil is key to getting the best performance. This is one area where Caledonia tutors really stands out, the tutors our son has had really connected with him, tgis might be the fact there isn't a big age gap the tutors being Uni students so they are able to easily relate to the experiences that our son was going through. For anybody unsure about the online aspect of tutoring I would say that our young people are very familiar with using digital technology for their lessons already – many, like my son, are issued tablets in high school, and most have had experience of online learning during the Covid lockdowns. Taking the travelling aspect out of the tutoring equation also helps, not to mention that online we have access to a larger pool of appropriate and suitable tutors rather than just settling for whoever is available locally.
Thanks to Caledonia Tutors and Jessie, my son is now much happier with his understanding of Physics and is feeling much more confident about his upcoming Higher exam.

The Headstart Course has helped give me confidence with maths and Daire has been a really helpful tutor. He covers the material well, making it easy to understand, and regularly practiced past paper questions which helped with revision ahead of exams.

From F to A in 5 months
My daughter had Aidan Thomson to help her with her Nat 5 Maths as she was struggling to grasp the various elements of the coursework. Aidan taught her in a way that she understood which helped her from an ‘F’ in October 2021 to securing an ‘A’ in her Nat 5 exam in May 2022. I cannot recommend Alvaro highly enough as a Maths Tutor. He recently helped our son (in a very short space of time) go from what we were worried would be a fail, to a B pass in his Nat 5 Maths prelim. I signed my son up for the free Nat 5 maths study sessions with Aidan. I was very impressed. Aidan was very good at explaining the questions and I liked the fact that he there were 2 examples of each question to let the students practise. Tom who tutors Maths, Briony who tutors Geography and Aidan J who tutors Chemistry and Biology have all made a huge impact on my sons education. I would thoroughly recommend Caledonia Tutors. Prompt response from Aidan to my initial query, and an equally speedy process to arrange Nat 5 German tutoring.
Online sessions were planned by Clara to deal with the specific areas where our son needed help and she made the weekly sessions engaging enough to keep the interest of a reluctant student. Small amounts of targeted vocabulary homework each week.
In the 3 short months between the prelims and Nat 5s, our son’s oral German mark improved from a low C to a strong A, and he was much more confident coming out of the written exam that he had performed well. English Summer Tutoring
My son had Georgia over the summer as a tutor and he really enjoyed the sessions. We decided to get him some tutoring because he got 3/30 in one of his tests. We arranged biology tuition for our 15 year son through Caledonia Tutors and were matched with Lydia. We were really happy with the support she provided and delighted to see the improvement in exam results – from 49% (prelims) to Grade A (79%) at Nat 5 exams. Meg tutored my daughter for Higher English for six months on and off. An easy relationship was established and Meg gradually challenged her to first stabilise and then improve, resulting in a band 1 A grade. Highly recommended. Aiden matched my son with Thomas Morris for Nat 5 Physics in January after the prelims. He had struggled to follow his teacher and after a disastrous 27% in the prelim we thought it was too late for him to recover.

I met Fraser for tuition for Advanced Higher Mathematics in January after barely scraping a C grade in the prelim. He was an excellent tutor, always explained things well, in more than one way and made sure I understood what I was doing before moving on.
