Amy is a 3rd Year Medicine Undergraudate at The University of Glasgow (1st).
Grades and Achievements
Amy graduated from University of Dundee with a BSc with Honours in Anatomical Sciences (2.1). She also has straight A grades in Biology up to Advanced Higher.
Hobbies and Interests
I am on the University of Glasgow’s debate team, competing at the international level including at European Championships. I love live music, and so far have seen over 100 bands live, though I intend to keep growing that number! In my downtime I enjoy cooking and baking, especially when I get to share what I’ve made with friends and family. I’m particularly interested in human anatomy and development, and how humans fit into wider ecological systems. Outside of biology, I’m interested in politics and philosophy (probably from having read so much when preparing for debate competitions). I also volunteer with Young Scot as a Trustee and Vice Chair and am really passionate about increasing youth participation in volunteering and policy.
Ambitions
I hope to work in the NHS in a surgical field after I graduate, alongside continuing to work in the third sector in some capacity to reduce health inequalities and improve public health outcomes in Scotland across the board. I am also working towards competing for the University of Glasgow at the World University Debating Championships.
