Hobbies and Interests
I sing in Edinburgh University Chamber Choir and play trombone in Edinburgh University Jazz Orchestra. I also run and am currently training for the EMF Half Marathon this May, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research. I also enjoy knitting, especially making hats for my friends and family. I’m really interested in quantum computing – I wrote my Extended Project Qualification essay in sixth form on whether quantum computers would be able to break the encryption algorithm RSA in the future, and then went on to do a project looking at what aviation sectors would be impacted by this during an internship at the CAA. I really enjoy programming – I’ve learnt to program 8 languages including Python, Java and R, and have built several websites in the past. I’ve always sung in choirs and I also play the trombone, violin and piano, so I spend a lot of time making and listening to music.
Ambitions
I’m going on a year abroad next year in Vienna and aiming to become fluent in German as a result. I would love to travel all over the world, going hiking in the Dolomites and Himalayas is definitely on my bucket list. I would also love to run a marathon and a half Ironman at some point in the future.
