Hobbies and Interests
Outside of studying, I’ve recently got back into photography, particularly film photography. I’m hoping to start developing and printing my own photos soon, but for now I’m enjoying the process of taking them. I also enjoy cycling. My flatmate and I recently cycled from Edinburgh to Galashiels, and although the weather turned on us, it made for a memorable day. My boots are still muddy. I enjoy learning about a wide range of subjects. Recently I’ve been reading more about philosophy, economics, history and art. I’ve also been going to more plays, ballets and guest lectures from other departments at Edinburgh. I like exploring ideas from different fields and trying to become a more well-rounded person.
Ambitions
I had a fantastic tutor during secondary school who really helped me fall in love with my subject. That interest has only grown during my time at university. As a result, I hope to keep studying and exploring mathematics for as long as I can. Ideally this would mean completing a PhD and eventually becoming a professor.
