Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy playing sport outdoors, especially cycling and swimming, which I’ve continued during university through triathlon. I adore animals and often go hiking in the Scottish Highlands with my two dogs. After spending a few years in France, I also developed a passion for travelling and learning about different languages and cultures. I’m interested in how technology can be used to improve medical aid, especially in areas of resource deprivation or conflict. Therefore I like to stay up to date with advances in wound-healing technology and rehabilitation robotics. Outside of medicine, my interests include reading science-fiction, learning about wildlife and the climate, and following different sports such as Formula 1.
Ambitions
I would like to help build students’ enjoyment and confidence in their scientific skills, supporting them as they learn to dissect problems and formulate solutions. I hope to continue developing my scientific communication through tutoring. In the future, I would like to use this skill to help create and deliver new healthcare technologies to patients in difficult environments, through organisations like the Red Cross.
