Aika is 3rd Year Mathematics Student at the University of Glasgow.
Grades and Achievements
Aika achieved 40/45 IB Diploma. IB Higher Level Chemistry 6, Economics 6, Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, 5. IB Standard Level English Literature and Language 6, German 7, Film Studies 7.
Hobbies and Interests
I love the creative arts! I play bass and acoustic guitar, often meeting up with friends to have fun jam sessions as well as arts and crafts nights. I’m also currently trying to expand my horizons with music and reading, alongside doing life with my friends through random side quests – the more random, the better! I’m really interested in education – I come from a Thinking School, where different tools encouraging metacognition and active learning enabled us students to think critically and approach problems from all angles. Taking these skills to university enabled great conversations with my lecturers and tutors regarding course content and the learning process itself. It’s also incredibly fun to experiment with new ways to learn, seeing what works and what doesn’t!
Ambitions
I want to have a role where I can help people come to see the wonderful potential they have, encouraging them to pursue that and to do amazing things. Whether that be (preferably!) through the education sector or somewhere else, I’m happy to be there!
