Hobbies and Interests
In my free time, I enjoy keeping fit and active – whether that be a walk around the park or by going to the gym! I’m also a massive bookworm and read on a daily basis, I will read just about anything but I have been enjoying fantasy at the moment! Another one of my hobbies is cooking, this really helps me to unwind after a long day at University. Academically, I have a strong interest in the cell biology of parasites and the infections they cause, particularly how we can use this knowledge to develop new treatments for these diseases. This was my main motivation for starting my Master’s at the University of Glasgow in Infection Biology, which I am thoroughly enjoying so far. Outside of my studies, I am a huge music fan and love going to concerts and festivals with my friends!
Ambitions
In the future, I am hoping to continue living in Glasgow, where there is lots more going on in comparison to the small seaside town I am from! A year from now, I will hopefully have started a PhD in parasitology to continue learning about this fascinating area of biology, and maybe even run a research group of my own one day!
