Deshna is a 3rd Year Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry with work placement (MSci) student at The University of Glasgow.
Grades and Achievements
Deshna achieved A*AA grades at A Level (Biology, Chemistry and Maths).
Hobbies and Interests
I watch F1 and football often and go to football games when possible. I read crime novels and watch crime/thriller shows sometimes. I like going on runs in the morning and playing badminton whenever I can and I really love visiting new cafes to try out their coffee and brunch with my friends. I’m interested in drug discovery and understanding psychedelics since doing my EPQ on the possible use of Psilocybin in the treatment of severe depression. I also enjoyed volunteering as a Maths Tutor and a Peer Mentor for youth at school, supporting pupils’ transition into school and helping pupils with their mental health.
Ambitions
I hope to work in drug discovery with psychedelics, researching its therapeutics and influence on severe depression. I do also possibly consider teaching; I want to continue tutoring as I really enjoy helping students improve their confidence in themselves and their abilities.
