Gemma is a final year Maths and Statistics undergraduate at The University of Glasgow (1st).

Gemma achieved AAAAAA grades in her Highers and AAA grades in her Advanced Highers (Biology, English and Maths).
Hobbies and Interests
My favourite hobby is Highland dancing, a passion that has taken me around the world. I not only teach Highland dance classes but have also competed and performed in incredible places including Ireland, Italy, and Disneyland Paris. Beyond dancing, I have a love for swimming—particularly open-water swimming at different spots all over the Scottish Highlands. Moving to Glasgow from the rural Isle of Skye was an exciting change for me, and I thoroughly enjoy taking advantage of the city’s restaurants, bars and events. Some of my favourite outings include trips to the theatre to enjoy musicals or seeing my favourite singers perform at the Hydro. When I’m not out and about, I enjoy reading books or watching movies with my sister.
Ambitions
After university, I hope to use my maths and statistics knowledge to become an actuary. I plan to pursue further study and complete a master’s degree in statistics or actuarial science next year, to equip myself with specialised skills to excel in this field.
