Grades and Achievements
Irena achieved AAAAAA grades in her Highers and AABB grades in his Advanced Highers (Biology, Chemistry, French and Spanish).
Hobbies and Interests
I have many hobbies but I knit and crochet on a regular basis. When the weather is nice, I enjoy gardening, walking in the countryside, or sunbathing with a good novel. I am a competitive fencer, so training sessions and physical exercise also take up a good part of my week. I have always been interested in plants and animals, now I mostly explore this interest through working on the farm and keeping a vast plant collection. Since high school my interests have changed more towards biochemistry, and more specifically how biochemical techniques can be used to discover new drugs and diagnose diseases.
Ambitions
I hope to continue learning more in my field and to graduate from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters degree in biological sciences. After graduating I would like to work in research, and my current, long-term goal is to become a clinical biochemist. In terms of my fencing career, I hope to one day win at a UK based, open competition.
