Lydia is a Biochemistry undergraduate at The University of Glasgow.
Grades and Achievements
Lydia achieved A*AAA grades in her A Levels (Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths). Lydia had various part-time jobs before tutoring with Caledonia Tutors.
Hobbies and Interests
I like to stay active whilst studying at university, so I do weekly Pilates classes and am part of the yoga society. I also enjoy the odd spin class and going on walks with my friends. I have also found a love for cooking and experimenting by trying new vegetarian recipes. Growing up Biology and Chemistry always captivated my interest academically, leading to my Biochemistry undergrad at Glasgow. In particular now I enjoy Richard Dawkins non-fiction literature, including his work on genetics such as ‘The Selfish Gene’ which revolutionised my view on evolution and lead me to a greater appreciation of Darwin’s work.
Ambitions
After my undergrad I hope to pursue higher education and perhaps start a research career of my own. I have an interest in the chemical composition of air pollution and how it is biologically impacting the human body.
