Nathan is a 1st Year Astrophysics (MPhys) at The University of St Andrews.
Grades and Achievements
Nathan achieved AAAAAA grades at Higher, AAB grades at Advanced Higher (Computing Science, Maths and Mathematics of Mechanics) and SM123 Physics & Space (Distinction) from The Open University.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy stargazing and astrophotography, particularly capturing Saturn and Jupiter. When the weather allows, I also like woodland walks and spending time in nature. I’ve recently been getting into musicals, with Hadestown as my favourite. My main interests are star formation and programming. I’ve really enjoyed learning how stars are born from clouds of gas and dust, and it’s something I read about for fun. I also like programming in my spare time, and I enjoy working out how to build programs that do what I want them to.
Ambitions
I hope to eventually work in a research field related to physics, particularly astrophysics, where I can contribute in my own way. I’d like to do this alongside a teaching role, such as tutoring or lecturing. For just now, my goal is to complete my degree with a masters in Astrophysics and go on to complete a PhD.
