Hobbies and Interests
I am an avid reader – I love many different genres of books, with a particular fondness for fantasy (in terms of fiction) and science textbooks (non-fiction). In my spare time I enjoy playing board/card/roleplaying games with my friends. I also play the piano and the bagpipes. I chose a degree in Zoology because of my love of animals and all their unique adaptations, and my favourite animal is an octopus. I am particularly interested in evolutionary developmental biology, specifically the evolution of the nervous system. However, I am fascinated by a large diversity of other topics from many different fields and love chatting with others about their research and interests in Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, English – pretty much everything!
Ambitions
At the moment I am applying for PhD positions, with the aim of pursuing research on the neural developmental biology of less understood and more unusual animals.
