Hobbies and Interests
If I had to choose anything other than physics to study it would be jazz piano. I love playing in the Edinburgh University Jazz Orchestra and at the various jazz jams going on in Edinburgh. I also enjoy playing classical percussion and anything else music related! I am a keen cyclist and love commuting on my bike as well as going for rides around Edinburgh in my free time. Academically, I am really interested in the close links between maths and physics which allow us to describe the natural world around us.
Ambitions
In my free time I enjoy running, playing the flute and singing in my university choir. I have also taken up orienteering as a new hobby this year to improve my navigation skills, and am enjoying exploring Scottish nature! As a medical student I am very passionate about increasing diversity in medical research, and am part of patient advocacy groups which focus on making sure that young people and children are represented in research groups. I am also interested in learning languages and studied Greek, Latin, French and Spanish at school and I’m currently learning German!
